Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers concise easy-to-master techniques to cook at home in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell also worked at some of New York's top establishments, learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions, and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by food and cooking in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic adventure. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. Following graduation of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy, she developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian food and culture. It will have a significant impact on the way that Burrell cooks. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of children who face problems. Burrell is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador where she advocates for education about the condition known as juvenile diabetes. She frequently travels around the country in her role in the capacity of mentor and guest speaker where she discusses her career and love of cooking. Anne has always been grateful she could share the passion that she had for and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
